Doodle Book

Doodling is one of my favorite things to do.  I love using scripture as inspiration for my artwork.  I decided to take some of these doodles, and put them with the Bible verse that inspired them, and make a little book called “Faith By Design”.  The font I used is called CK Curly.

Here is the book cover…

Here are a couple of pages from the inside of the book…

I had the book printed from Wal-Mart's online photo store.  It was a little difficult for me to find a way to use my own entire page design as opposed to the “auto-fill” pages, but I did find a way to do it.  The front cover was another challenge.  What you see isn’t what you get.  I had the image centered on the front, and when I received the book, it was way off center.  I returned that book and re-ordered another one after “fixing” (compensating) for their image misplacement.  The one shown above is after I fixed it.  The soft cover ones that I ordered were off too, but in a different way.  It was very confusing and frustrating for me.   The inside pages lined up just right, and I was pleased with the quality and color

If anyone reading this has a different store that they have used for making books, I would love feedback on your experience.  The total cost of my 8x8 20 page hardcover book was about $45.00 with shipping – Yikes!  The softcover’s weren’t much better…$35.00 plus shipping.  There was no discount for ordering more than one.  I’ve had several people tell me they would like to buy one, but at that price it’s just not going to fly!  I have a Zutter Binding Machine that I’m going to try next.  It doesn’t have the same book binding that I like, but it will be much cheaper.

Here are a few more doodles and verses that are in the book…
